Know Your Role

Bee cue: Worker bees don’t multitask identities. In each moment, they’re either gathering, building, or protecting—clear role, clean execution.

Why it matters:Most stress comes from trying to be everything at once. Role clarity reduces noise and helps you act with confidence.

Try today (2-minute reset):

1. Pause: Before your next task, ask: “What’s needed from me right now?”

2. Name it: Choose one role — listener, leader, doer, supporter.

3. Act in-role:

   • Listener: ask 1 question, don’t interrupt

   • Leader: state the next step clearly

   • Doer: complete one concrete task

   • Supporter: offer help or encouragement

4. Close the loop: Ask, “Did I stay in role?”

Quick examples:

• In a meeting → Listener (take notes, ask one clarifying question)

• At work block → Doer (finish one deliverable)

• With a friend → Supporter (be present, no fixing)
